Portraits for Therapists.

You already do the deep work of holding space for others— let me help you be seen in a way that reflects that care.

more than a therapist headshot

you spend over 3,000 hours learning how to listen, hold space, and guide people through their hardest seasons.

All of that training, all of that presence—and yet the very first doorway into your care is often just a single photo.

For most therapists, a new headshot is  the last thing on the to-do list, but for your clients,  it’s the first thing they see. It’s a portal! The place where they decide if your presence feels approachable, if they feel safe enough to reach out, and if they can picture sitting across from you in the room.

Together, we’ll make more than a headshot: a portrait that carries the same warmth, groundedness, and humanity you bring into your practice.

For Individuals

starting at $500

A private portrait session at your own pace, with room to feel comfortable and seen, so the final portrait feels like you.

Together we’ll create an experience that highlights the energy you bring into the room, in a location that feels right for you—studio, outdoors, or even your own office.

We’ll start with a 1:1 consultation to shape the session around your needs and help you feel prepared. Afterward, you’ll receive an online gallery to choose from, including 5 retouched portraits plus additional images to support your website or other materials.

Schedule a Group Practice Session

Group sessions are $200 per therapist (3 person minimum). For smaller teams of 1–2, the rate is $250 each. Each therapist receives a proof gallery to select their portraits, with light retouching included. A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.

For larger teams, scheduling conflicts, or splitting the session across multiple days, custom quotes are available.

about the photographer

Hi! I’m Joy (they/them). I’ve been making pictures for over 20 years and portraits remain my favorite practice—the thing that keeps me going. I built my process so the process feels nourishing for everyone involved, including me. Because it matters that I show up with a full bucket and an open heart.

Working with therapists isn’t so different from the work you do: I’m holding space and witnessing you in a way you may not have experienced before. Whether we’re together for 20 minutes or 2 hours, my hope is that you leave feeling relief and excitement about what we’ve made.

When I’m not making pictures I like to walk, dance, be outside, write poetry, and pet dogs while chugging an iced matcha latte at the coffee shop down the street. I’m the youngest of 4 but 5 minutes older than my twin sister. I’m obsessed with my nieces, the latest song on repeat, and asking my friends, “should I shave my head again??!”
